Biennial Conference Save the Dates! April 27 - 30, 2011

Why Attend?
The biennial conference offers an opportunity for representatives from major symphony orchestras to discuss their challenges and successes, knowing that their similar size and configuration gives them a common basis for sharing. The conference emphasizes the importance of networking among those groups who have the most in common. It provides experiences to develop leadership and reinforce the significance of volunteerism in the Arts.
A typical schedule of the three to four day conference includes:
* Professional training in leadership skills and volunteer management.
* Presentations by delegates of successful fund-raising, service, education, and volunteer recruitment projects.
* A "State of the Arts" panel by community leaders in business and the Arts.
Networking - Each member organization sends delegates from its various constituencies to the conference. Volunteer Coordinators are encouraged to attend. The host city for the next conference and the new Board of Directors are selected by the delegates at the conference.
Stategic Planning - Professionals and volunteers will provide presentations that describe successful strategies for growing symphony supporters in the areas of fund raising, volunteer recruitment, team building and audience development. Leadership Training Day -A stimulating day at a local University dealing with the subject of Leadership Training Day. Business Meetings - The agenda for three Business Meetings include providing an update on the goals and activities of AMSOV. New AMSOV Board Members will be elected during the Conference, and the site of the next Biennial AMSOV Conference will be selected!
Tours - Optional tours will be available for conference attendees to experience the rich heritage of the host city and surrounding area.
